INTRODUCTION

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), as we know, is the ability of equipment and systems to function as designed in their intended operational environment without adversely disturbing or being affected by other equipment or systems.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) has become a topic of extreme concern for manufacturers and users of electronic products in the Global Market.

Design of electronic equipment to comply with National/International EMC Standards Calls for the reduction of its immunity to external EMI. Undesired emissions may originate from equipment at the component, PCB and enclosure levels.

Keeping in mind the EMC testing needs of the industry in the Northen and Western region of the country, SALICON has decided to set up EMI/EMC facilities at their DELHI NCR /MUMBAI Centre(s).

NEW FACILITIES AVAILABLE

Conducted Emission (CE) as per IEC/FCC/CISPR/VDE/VCCI/IEEE standards
Radiated Emission Testing as per CISPR-11, CISPR-22 (EN 55022)
IEC/EN 61000-3-2 (Harmonics Emission)
IEC/EN 61000-3-3 (Flicker emission measurements)
EMI susceptibility Test set up as per IEC and EN standards for the following tests:
1. IEC/EN 61000-4-2 (Electro Static Discharge immunity test)
2. Radiated Susceptibility Testing as per IEC/EN 61000-4-3
3. IEC/EN 61000-4-4 (Electric Fast Transient immunity test)
4. IEC/EN 61000-4--5 (Surge immunity test)
5. IEC/EN 61000-4-6 (RF conducted susceptibility test)
6. IEC/EN 61000-4-11 (Voltage dips and interruptions)
7. IEC/EN 61000-3-2 (Harmonics Emission)
8. IEC/EN 61000-3-3 (Flicker measurements)

Ø The facilities to carry out the testing as per MIL-461-C/D/E/F/G are under way.

Few of the tests are presently available [as per MIL-461-C: CE 03, CS 01, CS 02, CS 06, RE 02 (14 kHz-2 GHz), RS 03 (200 kHz-1 GHz); as per MIL-461-E: CE 102, CS 101, RE 101 (9 kHz to 100 kHz), RE 102 (10 kHz to 1 GHz), RS 03 (200 kHz to 1 GHz)]
